Summary

On the way to a company workshop, we fell into a world of immortal cultivators while still in the car.

Those with spiritual roots and unique abilities were all called to join cultivation sects, living prosperously.

But I, having neither spiritual roots nor special abilities, lived as an ordinary mortal for 50 years, complying with fate until my death.

That’s what I thought.

Until I regressed.

I got to about chapter 112, but after that I couldn't continue, the chapters are sooo long, now that's not necessarily a bad thing but it can be suffocating when you've been reading for 20 minutes and see you're only halfway done with one chapter. Now the story and everything else is really solid really, it was great but for me it was WAY too slow, I know him having no talent and breaking through that with hard work, determination and regression is the whole plot of this, but there's got to be a limit to how untalented someone can be. He was SO untalented with martial arts that I only kept reading for him to get cultivation just praying he would have some talent in it, but he's only so so, not too bad not too good, just average. I know talent is mostly associated with overpowered wish fulfillment main characters, but this is too much, he's less talented than a fking rock

20 minutes what you reading bro.Max it takes usually is 10 minutes and isn't him being untalened better bcz that means more sufferring and more sufferring means more interesting.

Someone who has read stuff like RI, please tell me if this novel is as good as ppl say. The fact it's a Korean xianxia is making me unconsciously reject it already

I'm someone who has completed RI and other masterpieces and let me tell you this, this novel has more shots at becoming a masterpiece than Shadow Slave. So yeah, read it

i can't agree or disagree on this one because this novel has a different feel from Shadow Slave, so how one will enjoy it is entirely up to their tastes. I personally also can't tell how i would rate the two since it's been a while since i'd read shadow slave (and this novel's not all good, there are a few bad spots) but i would definitely say both novels in question are high level, even including their shortcomings.

I think this is boring, read 23 chapters and now I can't read it more. Progression is sh*t, there are f*ck*ng time Skips such that the story feels like a summary, there is only a single character with whom mc is interacting and the dialogues are boring. The story can become good later but I can't read it anymore.

I feel that a good light novel should have people interested in the first 20 chapters, 23 is a fairly good amount to judge if one likes the novel or not 💁‍♂️

I think atleast 100 chapters should be the bare minimum for making a review.

Hmm, first 20 chapters are the face of the novel. Had there been anything good i would read it but there is nothing at all, maybe later this may become good cuz of romance tag but I have very bad experience with the romance in Chinese cultivation novels

The complete opposite of MC in RI, unwilling to commit human abuse despite the benefits and requires a ton of regressions to get anything done which gets repetitive. This is the novel for you if you enjoy an MC suffering from everything going against him to the point that every regression is just him getting rid of one of the many things against him.

Well, I can roll with that, it's kinda like suicide hunter. But what about the cultivation, fights and power system? Does it make sense?

      • Parsajoon 2

Yes. And it somehow similar to ri because mc has unwavering character that he refined over many years that he lived.cultivation make sense as much as it can and explained throughy but it's not as simple as Ri . Overall it not like some 15 year old that can beat 1000 year monster cultivater, mc is not talented but hardworking

MC and his Colleagues get transmigrated, Everyone has talent, everyone expect MC and Guy (forgot name I am taking a break ;-;) get kidnapped, MC is talentless, MC dies 50y later, MC finds out he can go back in time (regression), MC does some stuff, MC learns Martial arts from his friend, MC so talentless that he only becomes 2nd rate (?) martial artist until he dies, MC keeps regressing Btw all deaths are tragic and make sure there aren't any onion ninjas near you 😭😭

Like he said MC and his friend are the only ones left behind by the cultivators and they go on their own journey of martial arts, his friend is a martial arts genius to the point he does what the mc can't do in 400 years in 2 seconds, literally. The story picks up once the mc gains the ability to cultivate but he's only really so so at it, I don't know, as of chapter 110+ the story feels repetitive really, with spend 50 years of hard work to gain minor boosts in power before dying and repeating. However, the story telling, and characters are amazing so that's something, the regression when he has students is the best one, but that's about it.

Tbh neutral evil mc's except a few(Fang yuan) are a bit boring bcz you can guess their actions but this is one of the only few cons of this novel. The concept is different from the usual xianxia novels and the world building is insane. Also I recommend Dao Of The Bizzare Immortal,if you are caught up with this.

Bruh I see you recommending this everywhere, for that I’m gonna give it a try, and not a half assed one like I’m doing these days but I’m gonna read at least 100 chapters, 100 chapters!!(I’m saying this here so I don’t go back on my word😭)

Copy pasting my review. This novel truly emphasises on the word 'Bizzare'.The power sysem is very unique but it lacks a heirachical system, every faction's cultivation method is unique but combat isn't the main focus. The story is set in a mental hospital & MC has hallucinations of a cultivation world but is that world truly a hallucination.MC's POV is unreliable bcz he is genuinelly ill & I didn't know whether what I was reading was fake or real. The only problems I had was with was the romance(after 300+ch)which was bearable tbh but nevertheless annoying & it feels like there is little plot like it's just Mc wandering, searching for a cure.Have heard this novel is one of the most famous novels in China along with LOTM and RI.Author's creativity is on par with CuttleFish & Gu Zhen Ren although his literature skills are not on that level,CF even recommended it in one of his interviews.MC's personality is Neutral with leaning a bit towards evil.Read till ch 100 or 170 (End Of Volume 1) ~

Absolutely Amazing Novel. The way Eun-hyun's lives are portrayed are absolutely amazing. Fellow Readers, Don't worry about there being only 120ish chapters, the chapters are very very long.
